Pray for the best, Prepare for the worst
First things first we want to have a moment of silence for Michael
Jackson..........Now lets get down to bizness. They say time brings
change and change comes with time. I guess it was a matter of time
before it happened to me. You all read the news. Me and speedo have been
traded to Golden State for Jamal Crawford.
Man, honestly I don't know how to feel. One moment I'm happy and the
next I'm sad. I'm happy because it feels good to be wanted and I feel
like I will get a chance to play. Lets be honest Coach Woodson never
respected my game. I feel like a rookie again. Fresh new start excited
for what's about to come. You can say I got a chip on my shoulder cause
I do. Mark the day I return to Atlanta on your calender. I know I'm
waiting for the new schedule to come out.
I'm sad cause although I didn't get to play, I had some of the best
teammates you can ask for. Everyone was cool like family. Speedo said
the first time is the hardest. My man Greasy (Mario West) was like my closest
teammate. I wish he could come with me. Man, this year has been crazy
and the season aint even started yet. I want to know what you guys
think. Let me know if you feel Golden States a better situation for me,
or Atlanta was better.
Like they say pray for the best and prepare for the worst. Til next time
good people.
I CANT WAIT TO GET WITH MY NEW TEAMMATES/ FAMILY OUT IN GOLDEN STATE!!

I guess it's pretty easy to get into Coach Nelson's doghouse, just ask Marcus Williams who was touted as the Dubs starting PG in 08-09, then saw action in only 9 games. Nellie gives pt to the guys that work their butts off in practice and can translate that to real games. I hope that you'll get a chance to show your stuff.

Maintain your offensive aggressiveness, attack the rim (often) and make your teammates better and I guarantee you will have a long productive career with Golden State.
Peace.

Just so you know, I stopped goin to the Hawks games strictly because Woody never gave you a chance. Just promise me you will never address the Woody issue. Stay cool. Do your thing.
I love your game. Remember, you can get to any spot on the floor you want, anytime you want. You can go right or left with ease and most "stars" in this game can't do that. You are a great defender and nobody acknowledges it.
I have one piece of advise for you. Don't make the mistake you made here. It seemed like you wanted to please Woody above anything else. Even if that meant sacrificing your game. If the coach knows what he is talking about that's one thing but Woody don't know jack. Remember, this is a business. If you sell your game out for a coach, that goes on your resume! Not his! You have to do what you do. You can't try to change who you are to please just any coach. He can get fired or he can get you traded and your rep is no more than what you did to please him. You are your best being you. When you hit that floor, you have to make the decisions.
As a fan, it means something when you are happy that your favorite player got traded.
Tear'em up!
4, Four, Foe, ....

I read that GM Larry Riley of Golden State is going to give you plenty of playing time so jump in and make things happen, that’s what Dominique Wilkins would say about you during your games.
I’m no longer a Hawk fan, now I’m a Warrior fan. Go get’em Acie.

I wasnt even going to give Woodson any energy but he need to be called out..I just read that interview dude is talking bout and woody is a bold face LIAR. Woody know he did you dirt coz he suppose to be focusing on the "Future of his team" and he all on your boxers tryna explain to the media what happen. He going all far left volunteering info i guess old head gotta conscience after all. Which goes to show he gone be waking up with you on his mind for a long time. He gone need you for recommendation on his resume if his "new" team dont work out. Them overstocked p.gs and two ball hoggers i mean ball demanders on the floor at the same time. (j.j & j.c) When they know they needed a big man.. Where they do that at? only in the Atlanta Hawks franchise where Sunds and Woody call the bricks.
Imma mark it on my calendar im still a fan of Atlanta Hawks team but YOU my partna nem for life! Cant wait to see you back in the Philips. And I'm sure Woody is gonna try to shake ur hand after that game.. go and serve that kneegro in 3rd person coz you aint trynna see him. Atl or GS? you've already asked me this and you did what you wanted to do anyways lol..I have mixed feelings about it but Im told you will get the respect you deserve and be able to prove that you are a valuable p.g in the NBA out there with Golden State. Acie, you're so talented, a slashiing beast and you work so hard to get to this point and those 2yrs of your life wasted is irrelevant now coz you get a chance to redeem yourself! you knw your real fans/fam riding with you regardless, With that being said stay focused, stay strong and keep yuh head up.....
TIME TO PUT GOLDEN STATE ON THE MAP YUH DIGG!!

From what I've seen, you have got the physical talent and the size to be a regular contributor. I just hope that you and coach Nelson match up in terms of what is expected from your role on the team.
Marcus WIiliams is an example of a player you don't want to turn out like. He came here and played without heart and without direction, just thinking he could rely upon "his style" to get him by. As a result he sat at the end of the bench and had 73 DNP-CD's. He'll be lucky to get work in the Mexican league next season.
My advice, and take it for what its worth, is to do exactly what Don Nelson tells you. He can make your career and get you that next contract if you play with heart and with smarts. Guys like Azubuike and CJ Watson have risen from NBDL players to guys with serious NBA futures because of Nellie. Get advice from them on how to get on Nelson's good side and follow it.
BTW, I'm looking forward to seeing you as a three point specialist and a guy that makes the smart play in the open floor. I hope we get to see that from you this season. And also, please keep us updated on whats going on in Oakland. Defintiely excited about reading your stories next season.
Best of luck towards a huge year!

I was blessed to be an Aggie during your clutch reign, and I'm hoping you can join Antoine back home and bring the Mavs back up to where they were before Nazi-Stern and Salvador brought them down. Get out there and dominate.

Me and my dad have been fans of you since we first stole you at pick #11. I'm sure you remember us- we were half season ticket holders, he wore your jersey that you signed for him last year, I wore a joe/josh jersey, we sat not next to the bench but to the side of it, pretty close, we would talk to you a bunch your rookie season (couldnt find you much the next), we had the "UNLEASH ACIE" sign? (and the "FEAR ZAZA" one, haha)
Anyhow, man, me and my dad only shook our heads as we saw clearly Coach Woodson as you say "not respect your game". We could tell you always played with a leash on, he tried to make you something you werent, he made you afraid to make mistakes and no player can play that way man, a good coach lets a young talent take his lumps. You showed flashes of brilliance at times but we knew, the WHOLE CITY knew, that you were never allowed to be the player you truly are on this team. Im not gonna bash on Woodson but....well let's just be real, it was his fault. I hate that it had to go down this way, with the right coach you would have had a long and successful season here, i truly believe that.
Me and my pops said all year as we saw Woodson not know what to do with you, and we both would say "if he can't play here, we hope we trade him to somewhere that he DOES get an honest shot to get minutes and become the player we all know he is". We think it sucks that you arent a Hawk anymore, but we are both excited that you'll be on a team with a great coach who we think you'll flourish under. Im sorry things didnt work out here, but hold your head up man, better times are coming. Woodson/the Hawks (unfortunately) WILL come out looking foolish here, I almost hope so. I mean, i see us draft Jeff Teague and i wonder 'how is this any different from when we drafted acie? a high scoring pg with a long range who led his college team in multiple stats?" I dont get it. But unfortunately, like you said, like we know, you were never given an honest shot. For that, i apologize, if even on behalf of Woodson himself. This city loved watching you play and it's a shame we dont get to do anymore of it.
Be well Acie. You're a great player and great person as well. When you come back to Atlanta, come say hey, we'll certainly be there, watching you score 30 (only dont win the game ok? haha)

There is always a way to utilize the talent you have but woodson is not capabale of switching it up which is why he sucks. It's clear at the games most players dont respect him and I actually believe he rubs the entire team the wrong way. While players are known to have personality issues I think it's a clear issue when the majority of a team has problems with the Head coach and upper managetment does nothing abt it.
The owners actually gave him the credit of the Hawks advancement from last season to the next. We needed Avery Johnson as a head coach but ofcourse that didnt happen so it is what it is. As for yourself just abt every young player in the leauge gets traded all over the place so it's best you adjust and show off where ever you go but know the Hawk fans in the A had love for you
