Alabama DL Justin Eboigbe likely to miss the rest of the season

Justin Eboigbe has been a big part of Alabama's defense, literally. He's a 6-foot-5, nearly 300-pound senior defensive lineman who has played in 42 games since entering the program back in 2019.

Unfortunately for the No. 6 ranked Crimson Tide (7-1), they won't have the services of Eboigbe for the rest of this season. He's been out since Week 5 with a neck surgery and head coach Nick Saban recently told the media that Eboigbe had chosen to undergo surgery to fix his ailment.

That's good for his long-term future, but again, unfortunately, it means he'll be shut down for the rest of this season for Alabama.

"He had a procedure done that would enhance his opportunity to be able to play in the future, but I don't think that's going to come this season," Saban said, per ESPN.

Eboigbe finished this season having played in four games, notching 11 tackles and two quarterback hurries.

Hailing from Forest Park, Georgia, Eboigbe was a four-star recruit, according to 247Sports, and was considered a top 100 recruit in the 2019 class. He was Alabama's seventh-best recruit that cycle, with No. 1 being Antonio Alfano, who ended up transferring from Alabama to Colorado, to community college largely because of injury issues throughout his college career.
