The Alabama Crimson Tide football program is going through many changes. The program has dealt with the fallout after Nick Saban’s retirement. Many players have left via the transfer portal, and it has led to many people thinking that the program is going to have a rough year. Offensive lineman Tyler Booker has a message for fans about what the expectations are for 2024.
A message from @iamtylerbooker to any concerned @AlabamaFTBL fans:
“The portal works both ways.
Once it opens up in the spring we’ll be able to add more if need be but I feel like we have everything in-house that we need in order to go on another National Championship run.… pic.twitter.com/JyXo9rvvM9

In an appearance on “The Next Round,” Booker encouraged fans that 2024 is not a lost season. The expectation is they will compete for a national championship.
“It’s really a next-man-up mentality. You come to Alabama to really get developed and really take advantage of the opportunity being presented to you. There’s a lot of opportunity on the table right now, and we have guys capable of stepping up and stepping into those spots and taking advantage of their opportunity.”
“But obviously, the portal works both ways. Once it opens in the spring, we’ll be able to add more, if need be. But I feel like we have everything in house in order to go on another national championship run. Everything is going to work out, so stay excited for the season because we definitely are.”
While the team has lost many players, they have also gained and retained some. Booker is one of the players who has bought into Kalen DeBoer’s vision for the program.
It would be foolish to count the program out. While they have lost many players, there is a good chunk of them who were young recruits who never saw the field. The most important player who was retained is quarterback Jalen Milroe. He should be a preseason Heisman candidate, and with some of Washington’s award-winning offensive line coming to the program, the offense could still be deadly.
Alabama should not be counted out in 2024. This team is still full of talent and may surprise people next season.
