Lou Groza Winner Graham Nicholson Transferring to Alabama

Former University of Miami (Ohio) kicker, Graham Nicholson, has committed to Alabama via the transfer portal. Nicholson becomes the Crimson Tide's first transfer addition of the spring portal window and has one year of eligibility remaining.

Who is Graham Nicholson?

Nicholson was the nation's best kicker last season winning the Lou Groza Award and completing 96.4 percent of his kicks. Last season for the RedHawks, Nicholson made 27-of-28 of his field goals and was 35-of-37 on extra points.

Nicholson is a veteran kicker that will be a welcome addition to Alabama's young and inexperienced kicking group.

Nicholson's Impact on Alabama

With Alabama looking to replace the NCAA's all-time leading scorer in Will Reichard and only having one scholarship kicker on the roster, Nicholson will have a huge impact on the Tide this season. With Conor Talty, Alabama's lone scholarship kicker, not separating himself from the competition this spring, it's safe to say Nicholson is being brought in to start. He will have large shoes to fill replacing a four-year starter in Reichard, but if there is a kicker out there that can fill those shoes its Nicholson. Expect to hear his name a lot this season for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
