Max Verstappen breaks silence on Zak Brown’s Red Bull domino effect comment after Adrian Newey exit
Peter Casey-USA TODAY Sports

Adrian Newey ‘s exit from Red Bull has caused quite a stir within the team. Hence, McLaren CEO Zak Brown commented on multiple things regarding the matter. Brown initially mentioned that multiple Red Bull crew applied for jobs at Woking after the aero-genius quit the team. Additionally, the American claimed that Newey’s exit was just the beginning of the fall of the team. Max Verstappen has broken silence on the comments since then and provided clarity.

The news of Adrian Newey‘s exit from Red Bull wasn’t completely unexpected. Nevertheless, it still caught people off-guard. The soured relationship between Christian Horner and him and ever-growing tensions due to Dietrich Mateschitz‘s death is believed to be the root cause. Max Verstappen reckoned that Zak Brown was trying to ‘stir things’ up by making the ‘domino effect’ comment. Additionally, the reigning world champion claimed that Red Bull as a team couldn’t do much over the comments.

He obviously wants to stir things up. For us as a team we can't do anything with comments like that. Max Verstappen said, as reported by motorsport.com.

However, Verstappen claimed that he understood Brown’s point of view. The main reason was that multiple people were keen on acquiring the Red Bull crew for their benefit. Regardless, the 26-year-old had no interest in such news and didn’t even bother to click on them to read further. Hence, the Dutchman’s clarification has sealed his allegiance with the team beyond the current season.

From his point of view, I understand it of course, because everyone is trying to attract our people and that is completely normal in the world of Formula 1 as well. But I'm not really interested in those things either. I see the headlines, but I don't even click on them. Max Verstappen noted.

Max Verstappen claims that there’s a lot of ‘human aspects’ involved before switching teams

Max Verstappen was the prime candidate for replacing Ferrari-bound Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes if the former were to be dissatisfied at Red Bull. However, the 26-year-old later declared that not even ‘$250 Million’ would make him consider leaving Milton Keynes. Hence, speaking on the matter, Verstappen claimed that there was no guarantee in life.

In life you can never guarantee everything. It's also possible that I won't wake up tomorrow morning, so in the end you never know things 100 percent for sure in life anyway.  Max Verstappen added.

Apart from this, Verstappen revealed that a lot of agreements are made in and around the world of Formula 1. However, it all came down to personal satisfaction from doing the job they were doing. Additionally according to the reigning world champion, a lot of ‘human aspects’ were involved in such a shocking team switch in Formula 1.

Of course, a lot of agreements are made, but in the end it's also about everyone being happy with their work and feeling appreciated within the team. There are a lot of human aspects involved as well. Max Verstappen concluded.

Max Verstappen has been performing at the pinnacle of his career currently. Adrian Newey’s race craft had enabled the 26-year-old to score such dominant victories. Hence, the technical wizard’s exit might take a hit at Red Bull’s challenger performance. However, in the coming seasons will be interesting to see how Milton Keynes copes in Newey’s absence.
