Chiefs’ Chris Jones boldly claims women’s basketball games are ‘more exciting’ than men’s after thrilling Caitlin Clark vs. Angel Reese showdown

Chris Jones was impressed by Caitlin Clark in her revenge against Angel Reese and the LSU Tigers. The Iowa Hawkeyes star point guard showcased on Monday night in Albany why women’s basketball should not be taken lightly.

It was one of the four NCAA tournament basketball games that took place last night, with Iowa and LSU facing off against each other in the later stages of their second year running. These two teams met in the 2023 championship final, when Reese emerged victorious.

However, tables flipped during yesterday’s game, where Caitlin Clark dropped 41 points, 12 assists, and 7 rebounds with nine three-pointers. She already led the NCAA tournaments with the most three-pointers in its history, along with being the most assist-maker. After her win against LSU, she also became the first to score 40 points in three games in an NCAA tournament.

The game ended with Iowa securing their passage to the final four with a 94-87 victory. Jones shared another post on X; this time the Super Bowl winner claimed he enjoys watching the women’s game more compared to the men’s.

Per the Athletic, the showdown between Clark and Reese attracted many eyes. An average of 9.9 million people tuned in, which peaked at 12.6 million on various platforms and networks.

Chris Jones wanted to stay in Kansas City

Basketball aside, the Kansas City Chiefs should count their chickens lucky because Chris Jones never wanted to leave, despite the continuous struggle to get an extension.

Before the start of the 2023 season, both parties were facing issues staying on the same page even after the first game took place. Eventually, Jones decided on a one-year deal.

It’s very hard to replace DT, especially when he is a five-time Pro Bowler with three Super Bowl rings. Unlike last year, the process of signing a new contract went smoothly, with Jones penning a five-year, $158.75 million deal with $101 million in guaranteed.

For me, that was the plan from the beginning. Since [the Chiefs] drafted me, I never planned to play for another organization. Deep down, I felt like I was never leaving. I wanted to leave a legacy in Kansas City. Chris Jones said

Jones played the role of leader during the Chiefs’ latest Super Bowl triumph. Now their only goal is to complete the unprecedented three-peat.
