One former member of the New York Yankees could end up back in the American League East this offseason.

Former Yankees slugger Gio Urshela is looking for a new home in free agency this offseason. The 32-year-old appeared in 62 games at the big league level last season and was solid although it was a small sample size.

Urshela hit two home runs and drove in 24 runs while slashing .299/.329/.374 for the Angels. It's unclear where he will land, but the Toronto Blue Jays have been floated as the top landing spot by Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter.

"Since breaking out with the New York Yankees during the 2019 season, Urshela has racked up 10.4 WAR over the past five seasons," Reuter said. "His ability to handle all four infield spots makes him a potential fit for almost any contender looking to add depth, and he is capable of stepping into an expanded role as needed. Predicted Landing Spot: Toronto Blue Jays."

Urshela began his big league career with the Cleveland Guardians but saw his most success as a member of the Yankees. In 2019, he slugged 21 home runs, drove in 74 runs, and slashed .314/.355/.534 in 132 games.

At one point it seemed like he would stick with the Yankees into the future but he was dealt to the Minnesota Twins ahead of the 2022 campaign and impressed. He has been very solid offensively throughout his career and can play all over the infield.

It's unclear if Toronto will land him, but a move could make sense. Reuter predicted landing spots for the top free agents available and linked the Blue Jays to Urshela. Maybe we could see a move at some point.
