First off, the pitch did look like a strike. A nice two-seamer that ran back over the inner-half. I get the frustration from Simon, who thought he had the punch out in a critical spot, but you obviously can't act like this.
As the post originally said, Chicago Cubs' infielder Christopher Morel was in the fray trying to calm Simon down, to little avail.
Simon is 42 years old and a veteran of nine major league seasons. He pitched for the Baltimore Orioles (2008-2011), the Cincinnati Reds (2012-2014, 2016) and the Detroit Tigers (2015).
Simon appeared in 255 career games at the major league level, serving as both a starter and a reliever for portions of his career. He started 32 games during the 2014 season for Cincy and 31 for the Tigers the following year.
Lifetime, he went 47-47 with a 4.56 ERA. He won a career-high 15 games for the Reds in 2014 and then won 13 for the Tigers in 2015. He struck out 529 career batters.
It's good to see him still playing and you love the passion, but obviously, you've got to tone down the reaction!
