Hall of Famer Frank Thomas happy to see White Sox SS Tim Anderson selected for All-Star Game

Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson was added to the American League All-Star roster on Saturday, and Hall of Famer Frank Thomas is happy Major League Baseball got it right.

Thomas, who spent most of his career with the White Sox, tweeted support for Anderson after learning the 2019 AL batting champion made the cut.

Thomas went to bat for Anderson earlier this week during a television appearance, saying, "Tim Anderson has proven to be a superstar in this league."

Anderson is batting .312/.350/.429 with six home runs, 31 RBI and 14 stolen bases for the White Sox, who lead the AL Central by 7.5 games.

His addition to the roster gives Chicago four All-Stars. Pitchers Carlos Rodon, Lance Lynn and Liam Hendriks were named to the team on last weekend.

Astros shortstop Carlos Correa was chosen as a reserve but was placed on the injured list due to the league's health and safety protocols, leaving the door open for Anderson to take the spot.
