With Alek Thomas on the injured list, outfielder Kyle Garlick has emerged as an appealing option for the Diamondbacks to bolster their outfield depth.
Despite struggling with the Twins last season, Garlick has kicked off this year with the Reno Aces on a hot streak at the plate.
With seven home runs in 11 games, Garlick has amassed a remarkable 1.086 OPS in the first two weeks. He has recorded at least one hit in 9 of the Aces’ 11 games.
Garlick currently leads the entire Pacific Coast League in home runs and ranks 2nd in RBIs with 19.

The D-backs recently brought up Jorge Barrosa for his major league debut last week. In his short span up with the D-backs, Barrosa went 2-10 at the plate, primarily playing center field.
Arizona has also taken a chance on Randal Grichuk for outfield depth. However, like Barrosa, he has struggled at the plate, managing just three hits in 17 at-bats.
With Garlick excelling in Triple-A, it would be worthwhile for the Diamondbacks to see if he can maintain that level of production in the majors, particularly considering that they have scored over five runs just once in their last seven games.
