The Chicago White Sox are struggling.

This team looks much different than the team that won 93 games and captured the American League Central division title a year ago.

The White Sox are in third place in the division as of now, sitting 4.5 games behind the Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Guardians for first place.

They own a record of 33-35.

A big part of their struggles has been the fact that they have dealt with so many injuries this season.

Johnny Cueto, last night’s starter for the White Sox, had a very interesting analogy about the mounting injuries, as seen in the tweet below.

Cueto’s Perfect Analogy

This is the perfect analogy.

It’s also cool to know that Cueto likes horses.

Who doesn’t?

But it is a good analogy.

When things are going wrong, a team has to maintain a positive attitude and Cueto is right that they have to keep moving forward and continue fighting if they’re going to come out of this rut.

Anything is possible in baseball.

Fortunately for the White Sox, they aren’t too far out in the AL Central standings or the AL Wild Card standings.

With just over three months to go, they sit only 4.5 games out of each race.

Injuries are issues that every team deals with over the course of the season, and the White Sox are no different.

But Cueto has been around long enough to understand that it’s not the end of the world, even when key pieces go down.

He’s doing a good job of maintaining a positive attitude and that is something that the young players on the White Sox roster can learn from him as the season progresses.
