MLB Network's Ken Griffey Jr. doc to feature LeBron James, Sterling K. Brown

Dads won't get live Major League Baseball on Father's Day since owners and the MLB Players Association can't come to terms on an agreement to begin the 2020 season amid the coronavirus pandemic, but they'll still receive a baseball-related present on Sunday.

MLB Network Presents is debuting “Junior,” a 90-minute piece about Ken Griffey Jr., on Sun., June 21 at 8 pm ET.

The episode will feature interviews with a handful of noteworthy celebrities, including Los Angeles Lakers superstar and three-time NBA champion LeBron James. Actor Sterling K. Brown from "The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story" and "This Is Us" will narrate.

As Bobby Nightengale of the Cincinnati Enquirer wrote, MLB Network will additionally honor the slugger who spent the bulk of his playing days with the Seattle Mariners and Cincinnati Reds with programming that includes some of Griffey's most memorable games and the 1998 and '99 Home Run Derby competitions.

Nightengale added the episode is premiering on Father's Day to recognize when Ken Griffey Jr. and Ken Griffey Sr. became the first father-son teammates in MLB history.
