Twins OF/IB Jordan Luplow elects free agency
Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Jordan Luplow elected to become a free agent Monday after the outfielder/first baseman was outrighted off the Minnesota Twins' 40-man roster.

Luplow, 30, was selected off waivers twice last season, by the Toronto Blue Jays from the Atlanta Braves in April and by the Twins in August. He batted a combined .208 in 39 games for both clubs, while hitting two home runs with five RBIs.

The Twins played in the wild-card and division-series rounds but did not include Luplow on the roster.

In 1,060 career games over seven major league seasons, Luplow is a .212 hitter with 47 home runs and 125 RBIs for six different organizations.
