Watch: Braves walk-off Marlins in wild NL East battle

The Braves-Marlins game on Wednesday night probably shouldn't have gone into extra innings, but the Braves persevered after a weird error to walk it off in the bottom of the 10th.

An error in the top of the ninth tied the series finale at 3, but after a clutch A.J. Minter strikeout with the bases loaded in the top of 10th, it took just two pitches for Michael Harris ll to send a ball into left-center field for the game-winning hit. Ronald Acuna Jr. screamed around the bases to improve Atlanta to 17-6.

The winning knock was the second walk-off hit for Harris in his young MLB career.

"I was trying to hit it the other way and get Ronnie around," Harris said in his postgame interview with Bally Sports. "I'm tired right now, can't really talk. Glad we got the win."

Harris also used his postgame interview to brag on the defensive abilities of his teammates, specifically Orlando Arcia and Austin Riley, who both made clutch defensive plays down the stretch.

"They're amazing. They're Gold Glovers," he said. "They showed that tonight in clutch moments when we needed big outs, and they got 'em."

Wednesday's 4-3 win gives Atlanta a series sweep over the Marlins, and a 5-1 record against Miami so far in the 2024 season.

Starting pitcher Reynaldo Lopez was once again fantastic, throwing seven innings of one-run baseball and earning his third win of the season. In four starts and 25 innings of work, Lopez has only given up two runs on 14 hits.

The Braves have an off day on Thursday before the Cleveland Guardians come to town in what should be one of the most anticipated series of the 2024 MLB season so far. Cleveland currently boasts a record of 17-7, best in the American League, while the Braves' record of 17-6 is currently tops in the National League.

First pitch for Friday's Braves-Guardians contest is set for 7:20 p.m. ET.
