Watch: Giants SS Marco Luciano's first MLB hit

Top SF Giants power-hitting prospect Marco Luciano ( Giants #3 Prospect) earned his first-career MLB hit on Friday night against the Boston Red Sox. He was called up to the majors earlier this week before the second game of the Giants' series against the Oakland Athletics. He went 0-2 on that Wednesday night game, but after a day off, the 21-year-old returned to the field and recorded a hit he will never forget.

Luciano led off the bottom of the sixth inning against Red Sox starter Kutter Crawford. Luciano crushed a 92.4 mph fastball from Crawford toward left field. The line drive bounced off the glove of Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers into left field for a base hit. Luciano's liner recorded a 107.1 mph exit velocity, easily the Giants' hardest-hit ball of the game at that point. It was also just the Giants' second hit of the contest.

Luciano's parents, Marco and Juana, who were not in attendance for his big-league debut, were in the crowd and able to watch the moment live. Two batters later, Luciano came around to score on an RBI single by Michael Conforto.

Luciano is a consensus top-100 prospect in the minors and was only recently promoted to Triple-A and hit .292/.370/.625 with two doubles and two home runs in six games at the highest level of the minors. Prior to his promotions, Luciano hit .228/.339/.451 with 12 doubles and 11 home runs with the Giants Double-A affiliate in Richmond, which plays in one of the most pitcher-friendly environments in the minors.
