White Sox OF Luis Robert diagnosed with hip flexor strain

Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert left Sunday's game against the Cleveland Indians after suffering an injury while trying to beat out a ground ball.

Robert hit the ground in pain and had to be helped off the field by trainers as he couldn't apply any pressure to his leg.

The 23-year-old was diagnosed with a right hip flexor strain, the team announced. X-rays came back negative, and he will undergo further testing on Monday.

Robert is slashing .316/.359/.463 with one home run and eight RBIs this season.

The Cuban's injury is only the latest blow to the White Sox outfield. Eloy Jimenez will miss most of the 2021 campaign with a ruptured pectoral tendon, and Adam Engel hasn't played yet this season due to a hamstring injury.

Andrew Vaughn, Adam Eaton and Leury García are the only healthy outfielders currently on the roster.
