Will Smith makes history with third straight World Series

The former Brave won his first World Series in 2021 as the team’s closer, where he was flawless in the ninth inning despite a tumultuous career in Atlanta. The following year, he was traded to the Astros at the trade deadline for starting pitching depth. The Braves would go on to get bounced NLDS, while Houston would go on to avenge their World Series defeat, beating the Phillies in six games.

Last offseason, Will Smith signed a one-year deal with the Rangers. He may have only appeared four times in the playoffs, surrendering four runs over 3.1 innings, but last night, Texas clinched their first World Series in franchise history, making Smith the first player in MLB history to win three straight World Series with three different teams.
