Yasmani Grandal Exits Early from White Sox vs. Yankees Due to Knee Issue
David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago White Sox swapped out catchers midway through Tuesday's game against the New York Yankees due to an injury to Yasmani Grandal.

Grandal started the game and went 0-for-1 but reached base when he was hit by a pitch in the second inning. The veteran backstop came out of the game in the top of the sixth inning due to left knee soreness, per the club.

Second-year catcher Carlos Perez, who is up from Triple-A Charlotte due to Seby Zavala's oblique injury, took over behind the plate.

Grandal is day-to-day, according to the White Sox.
