The Washington Wizards continue to add versatile guards to their roster this offseason. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Delon Wright has agreed to a two-year, $16 million deal with Washington.

The Wizards acquired point guard Monte Morris and wing Will Barton in a trade with the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday.

Wright was a first-round pick of the Toronto Raptors in 2015. He played four seasons with Toronto. However, he has bounced around to five teams in the past four seasons.

He spent last season with the Atlanta Hawks. Appearing in 77 games, he averaged 4.4 points, 2.9 rebound and 2.4 assists while playing 18.9 minutes per game. It was a huge dip in production compared to the prior season in which he averaged 10.2 points, 4.4 assists and 4.3 rebounds between the Sacramento Kings and Detroit Pistons.

He also played with the Memphis Grizzlies and Dallas Mavericks throughout his career.

At 6-foot-5, Wright is another combo guard. He can play on and off the ball. He’s a 35.4% three-point shooter. Also, he shoots 79.9% from the free-throw line.

Wright gives Wizards head coach Wes Unseld Jr. the flexibility to mix and match lineups. He’ll be able to spell Morris at point guard or slide in at the 2-guard off the bench. That versatility will allow Wright to play alongside any combinations with Barton, Morris, Bradley Beal, Johnny Davis or rookie Johnny Davis.

But it’s clear Wright’s primary role will be to back up Morris at point guard. He averages 5.2 assists against 1.7 turnovers per 36 minutes for his career. Much like Morris, Wright’s production illustrated he can create for others while limiting his turnovers.
