The Sacramento Kings hope to right the overall direction of the franchise, and help is on the way with some former Phoenix Suns leading the charge.

Sources told the Sacramento Bee coach Jay Triano was one of three assistants to have their deals finalized under the freshly hired Mike Brown.

Triano first arrived to Phoenix in May of 2016 as an associate head coach under Earl Watson. Just three games into the 2017-18 season, Watson was fired and Triano was plugged into the role of interim head coach.

The Suns opted not to bring Triano back after the season, ultimately hiring Igor Kokoškov. Triano joined Charlotte and has been with the Hornets since.

With prior experience leading the Toronto Raptors, Triano became the first foreign born head coach in NBA history to win 100 games when he was with Phoenix.

Triano isn't the only former member of the Suns to be brought over to Sacramento, as Luke Loucks will also be joining the staff. Loucks previously worked in basketball strategy and personnel evaluation for the Suns last season.

Playing in the Pacific division together, the Kings and Suns will meet each other plenty of times throughout the season to exchange greetings. Triano and Loucks look to help push Sacramento to their first playoff appearance since 2006.
