Mavericks go on 30-0 run but still lose on Luka Doncic turnovers

Dallas went on a stunning run to take the lead on the Thunder. Two Luka Doncic turnovers blew the comeback.

Two possessions after Doncic was whistled for traveling, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander stole Doncic’s inbounds pass and took it down for a game-sealing layup in Oklahoma City’s 126-120 win.

It was a disappointing ending to a game where Dallas scored 30 straight points on OKC to erase a 24-point lead. From the 11-minute mark of the fourth quarter until 4:14 was left in the game, the Mavericks went on a stunning 30-0 run.

Doncic had a stunning eight assists during the run, each one leading to a three-pointer, dunk or layup. He also added four points of his own plus two steals. The Mavericks star finished with a monster triple-double — 36 points, 15 rebounds and 18 assists.

But he fell short in part due to Gilgeous-Alexander and his five steals, the 19th-straight game he’s gotten a steal. The Mavericks tried to steal a game. SGA stole it back.
