Phoenix Suns are Reportedly Eyeing the Buyout Status of PG Delon Wright
Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

According to USA Today’s Michael Scotto, the Phoenix Suns are currently monitoring the potential buyout status of Wizards point guard Delon Wright.

With Jordan Goodwin now with the Grizzlies, the Suns lack depth at point guard, relying primarily on Devin Booker to carry the load.

Selected in the 1st round of the 2015 draft by the Toronto Raptors, Wright has since played for six other teams. He has been with the Wizards for the past season and a half.

This year, Wright has seen his role reduced significantly with Tyus Jones taking over as the primary point guard for the Wizards. Wright has also battled through injuries, resulting in him averaging just 13.8 minutes and 4.1 points per game.

Furthermore, his shooting percentage has dropped to below .400, a career-low possibly influenced by a strained left knee injury suffered in November. Wright has only scored in double digits once this season, compared to 13 times last year.

The Washington Wizards have until February 29th to determine whether Wright will be bought out.

Stay tuned for further updates.
