Spurs could look to recreate Twin Towers duo?

The San Antonio Spurs already have one freakishly long big man with guard skills. Could they be looking to add another?

The Spurs “may have interest” in little-used Phoenix Suns big man Bol Bol, according to NBA insider Sam Amico of Hoops Wire.

Bol was one of several players who became eligible for trade after Dec. 15. The date marks the end of the trade moratorium for players like Bol who signed a free-agent deal over the summer.

Bol, who stands at 7-foot-3 with a 7-foot-8 wingspan, could potentially form the Spurs’ modern-day version of the Twin Towers alongside Victor Wembanyama.

Spurs fans have probably heard the comparisons that have been thrown around on social media between Wembanyama and Bol. Both possess otherworldly length and a skill set that goes beyond that of a traditional big man. One Hall of Famer even claimed Bol was better than Wembanyama before the latter made his NBA debut.

However, fans expecting Bol to be the David Robinson to Wemby’s Tim Duncan shouldn’t get their hopes up. Bol is already on his third team in five seasons and can’t seem to crack a Suns rotation without much frontcourt depth.

The 24-year-old enjoyed his best year with the Orlando Magic last season. He averaged 9.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game for the East squad.

Bol has career averages of 6.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 0.8 blocks in 14.4 minutes per game across five NBA seasons.
