Watch: Wizards’ Jordan Poole sent announcers into frenzy over wild late-game carry vs. Pelicans

Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole hasn't shied away from attempting a bold in-game play, but his latest effort in a 133-126 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans even had the announcers going wild.

With the Wizards trailing by four with just under 30 seconds remaining, Poole attempted a move resulting in him carrying the ball so badly that one member of the officiating crew called it out immediately and gave him "credit for trying."

Watching it in slow motion at around the 15-second mark showcases how bold the attempted move was by the 24-year-old.

Poole cradled the ball across his body while taking two steps before going to the hoop, and it's safe to say the call by the officials was the correct one.

In Poole's defense, he had a solid night all-around during the loss, scoring 19 points on 7-of-15 shooting while knocking down 5-of-10 attempts from three-point range. He also tacked on six assists with five rebounds and three steals and, for good measure, had a plus-minus rating of +9, which checked in as the second-highest for the Wizards in the loss.

Poole's solid night wasn't enough, nor was the 43 points poured in by Washington teammate Deni Avdija, as the Wizards moved to 9-45 on the season, losing their eighth consecutive game.
