49ers elevate two players from practice squad vs. Cardinals
Stan Szeto-USA TODAY Sports

The San Francisco 49ers have elevated wide receiver Willie Snead and cornerback Kendall Sheffield from the practice squad ahead of Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals.

It will be the first elevation from the practice squad for both players, as the 49ers look to add potential depth at both receiver and cornerback due to injuries.

Wideouts Deebo Samuel and Jauan Jennings have been battling knee and shin injuries, respectively, with the former listed as questionable and the latter listed as doubtful for Sunday's game.

As a result, head coach Kyle Shanahan indicated the 49ers would call up at least one receiver from the practice squad, and they did exactly that by elevating Snead for Sunday's game.

In addition, the 49ers have some injury issues at cornerback as Ambry Thomas is listed as questionable with a knee injury, while the team lost Samuel Womack to Injured Reserve last week.

Last weekend, the 49ers elevated wideout Chris Conley and cornerback Shemar Jean-Charles from the practice squad for their game against the New York Giants.

This week, it's elevations at the same positions, but different players, as Snead and Sheffield will look to make their season debuts for the 49ers this weekend.
