Allen Robinson uses utensil analogy to describe Rams tenure

Allen Robinson had his introductory press conference with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday and had some interesting things to say about his lone season with the Los Angeles Rams.

NBA guard Patrick Beverley (now with the Chicago Bulls) had a memorable trade deadline day in February, being sent from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Orlando Magic. The former First Team All-Defender was waived by the Magic three days later and signed by the Bulls nine days after that.

When discussing his time with the Lakers, Beverley said in March that he "was a spoon and they were using me as a fork."

Robinson was traded from Los Angeles to Pittsburgh in mid April. The former Jacksonville Jaguars Pro Bowler was limited to 10 games last season and finished with the lowest targets (52), receptions (33) and receiving yards (339) of his career outside of his one-game 2017 campaign.

Robinson goes from a situation with the Rams where he was playing with an aging quarterback in Matthew Stafford and superstar wideout who gobbled up most of the targets in Cooper Kupp to very different circumstances with the Steelers. Pittsburgh figures to have promising second-year pro Kenny Pickett as the starting quarterback heading into 2023, with the likes of 2021 Pro Bowler Diontae Johnson and electric 2022 second-round pick George Pickens at wide receiver as Robinson's main threats for looks through the air.
