Baby Born At NFL Stadium During Browns vs. Colts Game
Jenna Watson/IndyStar / USA TODAY NETWORK

An NFL football game can certainly feature a "show within a show,'' an "event within an event.'' And that occurred in Week 7 in the league, as during the Cleveland Browns game against the Colts in Indianapolis on Sunday, a mother gave birth at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Mom's name is Tylan Jones, and she went into labor while in attendance at the game. Not surprisingly - NFL stadiums have all the comforts not only of home, but nearly also all the comforts of an actual hospital - a team of medics from IU Health were able to help deliver her third child.

A member of the IU Health team told the media that this happy incident marks the first time they have delivered a baby at the stadium. But again, an NFL stadium is a pretty good place to be when it comes to any sort of a medical need.

The baby, as it turns out, has her own NFL ties, as the child's mom is a relative of Browns wide receiver David Bell, according to WTTV-TV. Bell is an Indianapolis native who played at nearby Purdue, and he told reporters that his cousin was hoping to have the baby prior to Sunday’s game.

“Her whole idea was to try to have the baby before the game, but you know it’s all in God’s time,” Bell said. “So, now I have a new niece. So, hopefully I get to see her when I come back to the city.”

Kareem Butler, Bell’s mother, told WXIN that the baby was due to be born on Oct. 26 ... but that mom “went into labor” while she was getting ready to enter the stadium.

And in the end? Mom is saying the infant is her "Lucas Oil Baby.'' Oh, and the Browns beat the Colts, 39-38.
