Bears Injury Report: Secondary the Primary Worry
USA TODAY Sports

Backup running back Travis Homer has joined the Bears injury report but by and large it's unchanged.

Homer has an ankle injury sustained in practice and missed Thursday's practice. He had practiced on Wednesday.

The injured members of the Bears secondary all remain out. Safety Eddie Jackson (foot), cornerback Jaylon Johnson (hamstring) and cornerback Josh Blackwell (hamstring) all missed Thursday's practice. Johnson suffered an injury in Sunday's game and Blackwell aggravated one he had been trying to get over. Jackson missed last week's game.

If Johnson can't play Sunday the Bears would likely go with rookie Terell Smith in the secondary but could also play second-year cornerback Jaylon Jones. Both saw action in last Sunday's loss. Greg Stroman Jr. would take Blackwell's spot at slot cornerback. Blackwell is a sub, as well, but Kyler Gordon remains on injured reserve.

Tight end Marcedes Lewis had a veteran's day off as he usually does on Thursdays.

Denver has been without edge rusher Frank Clark for the last two practices and also inside linebacker Josey Jewell due to hip injuries. Defensive tackle Mike Purcell has missed both Wednesday's and Thursday's practices with a ribs injury.

Denver players limited in practice the last two days were wide receiver Jerry Jeudy with a knee issue and safety Justin Simmons with a hip injury.
