Brett Favre broke the hearts of Packers fans everywhere when he joined the rival Minnesota Vikings, and he may be breaking their hearts again, as he suggested that current quarterback Aaron Rodgers may be a good fit with the Chicago Bears.
"I would love that," said Favre when asked about Rodgers joining the Bears on the Load Management Podcast. "Bears fans would probably be like, ‘I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I am so glad Aaron Rodgers is on our team.'"
The future of Rodgers has become a hot topic to discuss since the Packers traded up in the first round to take quarterback Jordan Love, implying that the team may be ready to move on from the superstar quarterback in the next few years.
On paper, the Bears are a team that makes sense for Rodgers. The roster is talented, but the Bears lack a consistent quarterback to take the team to the next level. While it would maybe shock Bears fans at first, Favre is right that they would probably get on board pretty quickly with the idea of adding a future Hall of Fame gunslinger to their roster.
Rodgers has said he hopes to finish his career in Green Bay but understands that is far less likely with Love on the team. For now, he says he is focused on just enjoying the present rather than worrying about what team he might end up with next.
"I don’t know what the future holds. I know I can control this year and my play and my approach and my attitude," Rodgers told reporters.
