Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy out four to six weeks with high-ankle sprain

Denver Broncos head coach Vic Fangio told reporters Monday that wide receiver Jerry Jeudy will "miss some time" due to the high-ankle sprain he suffered in the third quarter of Sunday's win at the New York Giants.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Jeudy is expected to be out anywhere from four to six weeks. Meanwhile, Nick Shook of the NFL's website adds the Broncos could ultimately place Jeudy on injured reserve.

Just like last season, a player who lands on IR can return after he misses a minimum of three games.

Jeudy torched the Giants and led the Broncos with six receptions for 72 yards before he was injured, and quarterback Teddy Bridgewater finished the season-opening victory with 28 completions on 36 passes for 264 yards, two touchdowns and a 115.7 passer rating. Bridgewater connected with nine different receivers at MetLife Stadium, and the Broncos cruised to a comfortable 27-13 road win.

Denver next plays at the Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1) this coming Sunday and then welcomes the New York Jets (0-1) to town for its home opener on Sept. 26.
