Browns versus Jaguars Inactive Report

For the first time in a while, Cleveland will have a positive inactive report ahead of their matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

On offense, Amari Cooper who got a head injury last week against the Los Angeles Rams cleared concussion protocol on Saturday and will be available for Cleveland. Cleveland will also activate cornerback Cam Mitchell for the first time in over a month.

It certainly cannot be all positive for the Browns on the injury front. Browns' All-Pro cornerback Denzel Ward popped back up in the inactive list as a surprise after practicing all week. A huge loss for the Browns' secondary.

At some point this week in practice, rookie right tackle Dawand Jones tweaked his knee and was downgraded to out for this game.

Here are the full lists for each team:

Cleveland Inactives

  • Cornerback - Denzel Ward
  • Linebacker - Mohamoud Diabate
  • Center - Luke Wypler
  • Defensive End - Isaiah McGuire
  • Defensive Tackle - Siaki Ika
  • Tackle - Dawand Jones

Jacksonville Inactives

  • Cornerback - Tyson Campbell
  • Conerback - Tre Herndon
  • Oustide Linebacker - Yasir Abdullah
  • Offensive Tackle - Walker Little
  • Tight End - Brenton Strange
  • Defensive Tackle - Foley Fatukasi
  • Quarterback - Nathan Rourke (3rd Quarterback)

The Dawand Jones injury is more significant than what meets the eye. This Jaguars defense isn't great, but they do have a game-wrecker in Josh Allen. Allen has 13.5 sacks on the season and if someone on this defense can flip the momentum of the game, it is most definitely Allen. Controlling him on the line is priority number one for the Browns.

Jacksonville dodges a bullet with Trevor Lawrence being healthy. They are missing two key components on their offense in Christian Kirk and tackle Walker Little. Little will be replaced by guard Ezra Cleveland to protect the edge of the Jaguar offense.

While Cleveland is a very good guard in this league, he will be playing out of position. This should be blood in the water for the Browns' defensive line and they need to take advantage of this.

The teams are set for action. It's Week 14 in the AFC, this one between Jacksonville and Cleveland will shake up the playoff picture.
