Chargers News: Donald Parham's Promising Outlook in 2023 Under Kellen Moore
USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Chargers are gearing up for the 2023 season with a fresh perspective and a determination to correct past mistakes. This year presents a golden opportunity for the team to make a mark and prove themselves as contenders. Among the returning players eager to make an impact is tight end Donald Parham Jr., entering his fourth NFL season, all of which he has spent with the Chargers.

Parham has shown promise in his time with the team but has yet to fully establish himself as a critical contributor. However, adding new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is expected to bring a new level of firepower to the Chargers' offense, which could open up exciting opportunities for Parham to shine.

Chargers wire broke down each position we should look at going into training camp, and one of the players to watch was Parham. The way Moore uses tight ends could be a massive break for the 25-year-old.

For a coordinator like Moore who utilizes a lot of 12 personnel, which means two tight ends on the field, Parham’s play alongside Gerald Everett will be imperative to their offensive success.

Parham has played in 33 games but has only started in 15 of them. Various factors, including competition from other tight ends and unfortunate injuries, have hindered his progress. Notably, a severe concussion in 2021 kept him sidelined for the remainder of the season, and in 2022, he was limited to just six games due to another concussion and hamstring injury.

Despite these setbacks, the new season brings renewed hope for Parham. With Moore's offensive prowess and innovative play-calling, the 25-year-old tight end could finally get the chance to showcase his skills on a larger scale. Moore's system is expected to utilize Parham's abilities effectively, providing him with more opportunities to make a significant impact on the field.

Parham's emergence as a formidable force in the offense could be a game-changer. With the challenges of the past behind him and a fresh start on the horizon, the young tight end has the potential to become a standout player for the Bolts.
