Daniel Kilgore has funny tweet after barber situation
Chiefs center Daniel Kilgore has a sense of humor about the COVID scare the Chiefs just went through. Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Only in 2021. With the Kansas City Chiefs preparing for Super Bowl LV against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, the NFL got further evidence that this is going to be unlike any big game ever before.

Such as the nature of the beast in the age of COVID-19. This came to a head earlier in the week when Chiefs reserves, offensive lineman Daniel Kilgore and wide receiver Demarcus Robinson, were placed on the COVID list after being in close contact with someone who had the virus.

Reports since have noted that the close contact was a team barber, who tested positive for the virus.

In an interesting and somewhat scary turn, about 20 members of the Chiefs, reigning Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes included, were scheduled to get buzzed by the unnamed individual immediately ahead of Sunday’s game. Since then, reports suggest that Kilgore’s cut came to an end halfway in as news broke that the barber had contracted COVID-19. He now has an absolutely hilarious take. Kilgore had a funny tweet that touched upon that report:

Not everything has to be serious, no matter what is happening in the world today. That’s an absolutely brilliant social media post from Kilgore right there. It’s what social media should all be about.

As for Kilgore and Robinson, both continue to test negative for COVID-19. At this rate, the expectation is that both will be on the field for Super Bowl LV against the Buccaneers.

Let’s just make sure Kilgore doesn’t take his helmet off. No one wants to see that butcher job.
