Colts All-Pro Quenton Nelson aiming to be ready for Week 1 despite foot surgery

Suffice to say, the last week hasn't been too kind to the Indianapolis Colts in the injury department. That isn't stopping All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson from setting his sights on being ready for Week 1.

Nelson had surgery this week to mend a foot injury — the exact same injury new quarterback Carson Wentz sustained last week. While the timeline to return is five to 12 weeks, Nelson took to social media on Tuesday evening to let fans know he has no plans to be sidelined long term.

The three-time Pro Bowler hasn't missed a regular-season game since being drafted by the Colts in 2018 and has only allowed three sacks during that time. Regardless of whom Indianapolis taps as starting QB in Week 1, the Colts will get a boost from having a healthy Nelson on their O-line.

The Colts host the Seahawks on Sept. 12 to open the season.
