The Cleveland Browns’ thrilling 39-38 win Sunday over the Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium was hardly the most exciting part of WR David Bell’s return to his hometown.

A fan gave birth to a baby girl inside the stadium about 20 minutes after kickoff, and the baby is the newborn niece of Bell, who spoke with Indiana-based television station WLFI after the game and confirmed the news.

“It’s a blessing, so her whole idea was to try to have the baby before the game, but it’s all in God’s timing,” Bell said of the niece’s mother. “So now I have a new niece, so hopefully I get to see her when I come back to the city.”

Bell’s mother, Kareem Butler, also spoke with WLFI and said the baby was born at around 1:20.

"She was due the 26th, but her mom went into labor as we were crossing the street,” Butler said. “So, when they got here, they went to the first aid."

Bell was drafted by the Browns in the third round of the 2022 draft after spending three seasons at Purdue. He also had around 300 family and friends in attendance at the game, according to WLFI, for what was his first NFL game back in his hometown.

The Browns won on a game-winning touchdown drive from RB Kareem Hunt, bringing their record to 4-2, which is their best start to a season since 2020.

By the time it was all over, Bell was leaving not only with a huge victory for his football team but an even bigger win for his family.
