Former Cardinals Keaontay Ingram, Blaine Gabbert crowned Super Bowl LVIII champs with Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs have been crowned the Super Bowl LVIII champions after defeating the San Francisco 49ers 25-22, and two former Arizona Cardinals will now get a ring.

Even though they didn’t play a snap in the biggest and last game of the NFL season, running back Keaontay Ingram and quarterback Blaine Gabbert will still celebrate claiming the Lombardi Trophy.

After Ingram was released by the Cardinals on Nov. 28, 2023, he joined Kansas City’s practice squad two days later.

The sixth-round pick (201st overall) by Arizona in the 2022 NFL Draft, Ingram played two seasons (2022-23) in The Valley for 20 games. He collected 134 yards from 62 rushing attempts and scored a touchdown as a Cardinal. Ingram did not make his Chiefs debut following his arrival.

Winning his second Super Bowl of his career, Gabbert has done it again this time while watching Patrick Mahomes work his magic.

Gabbert backed up Tom Brady in the 2021 title game for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as they funnily enough beat his current team in the Chiefs 31-9.

During 2017, Gabbert signed a one-year contract with Arizona and started five games. He completed 95-of-171 passes for 1,086 yards and six touchdowns.

This year on the Chiefs, Gabbert played twice and threw for 185 yards from 18-of-35 passing.

As for the rest of the Chiefs squad, they are back-to-back champs.

Last season, Kansas City also won by three like tonight, 38-35 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Now that the Super Bowl is over, the next big event for the NFL is the 2024 Draft in April.
