Former Pro Bowl safety Darian Stewart retires

One-time Pro Bowl safety Darian Stewart, who helped the Denver Broncos topple the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50 as part of Denver's "No-Fly Zone" secondary, won't be joining a new team.

Denver announced on Thursday that the 32-year-old is retiring, and Stewart confirmed the news via Instagram.

"There’s so much that happened in 10 years," Stewart captioned his post. "I’m forever grateful to GOD and every person who impacted my story. On to the next!"

The St. Louis Rams signed Stewart as an undrafted free agent in 2010, and he remained with that organization until he joined the Baltimore Ravens ahead of the 2014 season. He then put pen to paper on a contract with the Broncos in 2015 and spent four years with that club, during which he played alongside Aqib Talib, Chris Harris Jr., and T.J. Ward in the secondary.

Stewart earned his lone Pro Bowl nod in 2016 when he tallied three interceptions, six passes defended, 68 total tackles, one forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and two quarterback hits.

He played in 13 games with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season but remained unsigned through December.
