The Jacksonville Jaguars have lost 14 straight games, but their one win this season came in the team's season opener against the Indianapolis Colts.
Because of that loss, the Colts aren't overlooking the Jaguars ahead of their Week 17 season finale against the franchise. Colts head coach Frank Reich even admitted that his squad hasn't always played the best against Jacksonville.
Frank Reich on the Jaguars last night: "I know they don’t have a good record, but we have a lot of respect for this team. We have not always played well against this team and they obviously beat us early..."
— Zak Keefer (@zkeefer) December 29, 2020
If you can believe it, Colts just 2-5 in their last 7 vs. Jax.
Since Reich took over as head coach of the Colts in 2018, Indianapolis is 2-3 against Jacksonville. Since 2017, the team has lost five of its last seven games to the Jaguars.
Even if Jacksonville wins on Sunday, the team has already locked up the first-overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft thanks to two New York Jets victories. The Colts, meanwhile, have to win to even have a chance at making the playoffs. Indy currently is the eighth seed in the AFC and they need a win and some extra help in order to reach the postseason.
If the Colts can't get past Jacksonville, they can kiss a postseason berth goodbye.
