Houston Texans unveil new uniforms, helmets
Kiyoshi Mio-USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Texans will have a new look for the 2024 NFL season. On Tuesday, the Texans revealed their new uniforms, which include three different helmets.

The Texans now have four different types of uniforms – Texas Inspired (home uniform), The Bull (away uniform), The Bold Bull (alternate uniform) and City Edition (color rush uniform). The City Edition uniform features a helmet with a new “H” logo that includes bullhorns and the star from the primary logo.

This is the first time in franchise history the Texans unveiled new uniforms. “My parents brought football back to Houston more than 20 years ago,” Texans Chair and CEO Cal McNair wrote in a letter to Texans fans on Tuesday. “In September of 2000, they proudly unveiled the name, colors and logo of the team that you were longing for – our Houston Texans. Today, for the first time since 2000, we are so proud to reveal our new uniforms. These are even more special because they are inspired by and for all of you, our fans.

“You asked us to be more H-Town and we delivered. You were with us every step of the way and I hope you’re proud of these new looks. There’s truly something for everyone – traditional, modern, bold bull and H-Town tough. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I can’t wait to see you rocking your new gear at NRG Stadium this season.”

The new uniforms and helmets were made possible after the team conducted more than 10,000 surveys and 30 focus groups. The move comes after the team won the AFC South and reached the divisional round of the playoffs last year.

Houston Texans added two standout players for 2024 season

The Texans will also look different when it comes to their personnel. Houston traded for wide receiver Stefon Diggs during the offseason to be another weapon for quarterback CJ Stroud. The Texans also made a big splash in free agency when they signed pass rusher Danielle Hunter to a two-year, $49 million contract.

“It’s an honor to be able to come back and play in front of my family and all the people that I grew up with,” Hunter said in March, per the Texans’ official website. “I know they’ve been pretty excited about the news lately. They’ll finally be able to come to a game and see me play.”

“During the playoffs, I actually came to the game against the Browns,” Hunter added. “I liked what I saw. Just the whole feeling of how the guys were on the field, playing for each other and the way they swarmed to the ball on defense. That was a big part of it.”
