Jaguars fear wide receiver Dede Westbrook tore ACL vs. Chargers

The Jacksonville Jaguars' rough season may have gotten even worse. The team is worried that receiver Dede Westbrook may have torn his ACL in Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Jaguars have lost six straight games, but one of the few bright spots has been their solid receiving corps — though Westbrook was not very involved in the offense up to this point. He played in just two games this season and only had a single catch for four yards. His injury came during a kick return at the end of the third quarter.

The real problem for Jacksonville has been its horrid defense. The Jags have given up at least 30 points in all six of their losses season, including 39 points in the loss to the Chargers. The Jaguars stayed competitive in the game, even taking a 21-16 lead over Los Angeles after a blocked punt, but Justin Herbert managed to score three touchdowns in the final 21 minutes of the game to seal the win for the Chargers.

As the Jaguars head into their bye, coach Doug Marrone says it will be essential for the team to regroup and try to make the most of the back half of the season.

"We're going to take a good look at things," Marrone said. "I told them, 'We have to put this behind us. We have to learn from it. We have to take a different mentality and a different step going into this next phase after the bye week.' That's what I told players after the game."
