Jets WR details major change he's noticed in Aaron Rodgers this offseason

Jets wideout Allen Lazard noted quarterback Aaron Rodgers developed more patience and a willingness to teach since Green Bay traded him to New York.

"He's opening his arms, putting his hand out, trying to help guys, trying to teach," Lazard, who has played five seasons with the four-time MVP, recently said, via Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated. "That's not to say he was hard to play with in Green Bay. He was a little more like, you have to pick it up. He's a little bit slower here in realizing there's a lot of new players. He's taking his time. I'm seeing it."

Last offseason, Rodgers skipped OTAs after Green Bay dealt six-time Pro Bowl WR Davante Adams to Las Vegas and drafted Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs to replace him.

Subsequently, the 39-year-old struggled to develop a rapport with the young wideouts, and his production suffered. In 17 games last season, Rodgers' QBR fell to 39.3, the second-lowest mark of his career and below the league average. Also, the Packers went 8-9 and missed the playoffs.

Expectations for Rodgers and the Jets are high this season. Per OddsChecker, they have the seventh-best Super Bowl odds. So Rodgers realizes he must immediately form a repertoire with his wideouts to avoid a flop.

Rodgers' focus on bonding with his young wideouts should benefit the Jets offense. He's already formed chemistry with 2022 Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson, who had a monumental TD during Sunday's practice.

Rodgers wants to pen an excellent chapter to the end of his career, ending the Jets' 12-year playoff drought— the longest in the NFL. He's willing to soften his approach since he needs to click with his WRs to thrive.
