Josh Gordon's Super Bowl LIII ring sells for $138K at auction

Josh Gordon's Super Bowl LIII ring officially is off the market.

Gordon's championship ring, which he received as a member of the New England Patriots, was sold by Heritage Auctions for $138,000, according to Rich Mueller of Sports Collectors Daily.

Gordon was a member of the New England Patriots squad that defeated the Los Angeles Rams 13-3 in 2019. However, he did not play in the Super Bowl due to a suspension, but the Patriots awarded him a ring because he contributed to the team during the regular season.

Unfortunately, it's possible that Gordon sold the ring because he needs money after losing out on millions of dollars from multiple suspensions for violation of the league's substance-abuse policy.

The 29-year-old is attempting to apply for reinstatement, but there's been no word on whether or not the NFL will allow him back for another time.

The wide receiver spent the 2019 season split between New England and the Seattle Seahawks. He reeled in 27 receptions for 426 yards and one touchdown in 11 games.
