Chiefs S Deon Bush re-signed for his third season in Kansas City on Tuesday. The decision seemingly evoked some memories of when he first signed with the team back in 2022.
If you'll recall, Bush made an introductory tweet shortly after signing his original contract with the team. He was hoping to receive a warm welcome from Chiefs fans, but the tweet went out just moments after Chiefs Kingdom learned that Kansas City had shipped WR Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins.
He wasn't met with the warmest of greetings, but instead, he was met with panic.
What’s up Chiefs Kingdom!!

Just take a look at the comments on the tweet above and you'll find plenty of welcome messages, along with some harsh responses.
"Not now, Deon!"
"Sir, you just arrived at the biggest mess."
"You just chose the wrong time to send this tweet, lol."
Some even had to ask him if he was planning to switch positions.
"Can you play WR?" one fan asked.
"Well I did a little in Pop Warner," Bush responded.
Bush was a good sport about the whole thing and came back with a follow-up tweet a few days later after fans had come to terms with losing Hill to Miami.

Now, Bush took the opportunity for a whole do-over after signing his third contract with the team. It was a bit of a risk knowing that his teammate L'Jarius Sneed is at the center of trade discussions, but the timing of this tweet was much better than the first time around.

"Nailed it!"
"Welcome back!"
"Glad you're staying!"
"Perfect timing!"
Two Super Bowl victories later and the responses from Chiefs Kingdom were much more gracious this time around.
