LB Nigel Bradham cut by Saints shortly after criticizing Eagles

Nigel Bradham was cut by the New Orleans Saints shortly after making some controversial comments about his old team, the Philadelphia Eagles.

After four seasons with the Buffalo Bills followed by four season with the Eagles, Bradham signed a one-year deal with the Saints, and though his stint in New Orleans only lasted a couple of weeks, he said last week that the culture with the Saints was different than his experience in Philadelphia.

"It's definitely a different type of environment, a different culture," Bradham said. "Because the last two organizations I went to weren't really winning organizations. So when you come to a place where it's known for winning and known for being in the postseason, you see a different type of culture they have and the expectations that they have naturally and what they expect out of you as a player."

Bradham faced some heat for making seemingly derogatory comments about the Eagles, especially since he was there when the team won its first Super Bowl. The linebacker tried to walk back his comments a bit, giving coach Doug Pederson credit for building a winning culture with the Eagles. However, the damage may have already been done.

Of course, Bradham's release could have less to do with his comments and more to do with his abilities on the field. Far from a star, Bradham has mostly been a solid starter during his career, and the Saints may have found they could survive without him on their roster.
