NFL Insider Reveals Massive Bold Prediction For Lions’ Jared Goff
Eric Seals / USA TODAY NETWORK

An NFL insider has some big expectations for Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff.

Recently, legendary quarterback Tom Brady said that he felt Buffalo Bills star Josh Allen would be the next quarterback to win his first Super Bowl.

Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz disagrees.

During a recent appearance on FS1’s Speak, Schultz questioned just how effective Allen will be after losing both Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis this offseason. While he admitted that Allen is a phenomenal player, he doesn’t quite see a championship for him in the near future.

Schultz does, however, think that Goff may end up winning one.

Schultz mentions that Goff and the Lions were this close to making it to the Super Bowl this past season, only to blow a 24-7 lead to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game.

He loves the offensive talent that Detroit possesses, naming running back Jahmyr Gibbs, tight end Sam LaPorta and wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown. He also credited the Lions for having a great offensive line.

Schultz adds that he expects Goff to land a significant contract extension this offseason, which would essentially mark the stamp of approval from Detroit’s front office.

Goff is coming off of a 2023 campaign in which he threw for 4,575 yards, 30 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while completing 67.3 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 97.9.

Not many people are going to think of Goff when asked to name the elite quarterbacks in football, and that’s understandable. However, Goff has quietly been one of the better signal-callers in the NFL over the last couple of seasons and appears to be hitting a new gear in his career.

The Lions just had their best season in three decades, winning their first division title since 1993 and capturing their first playoff win since January 1992.

We’ll see if Detroit can build on that in 2024, and who knows? Maybe a championship ring will be waiting in the wings for Jared Goff, who already played in a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams back in February 2019. The Rams lost to Brady and the New England Patriots that year.
