NFL Trade Idea: Pats Deal for Browns WR?

The New England Patriots and the rest of the NFL have very little time to make some moves before Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET trade deadline.

The Pats may not be big buyers this season with a 2-5 record and with very little cap space, but the least they could do is look around the league to see if they can find a small flier on somebody.

Bleacher Report suggests that the Patriots should look into trading for Cleveland Browns receiver David Bell.

"The Patriots have to consider budget options here, and they might find one in Cleveland Browns receiver David Bell," Bleacher Report writes. "The 2022 third-round pick out of Purdue hasn't seen the field often for Cleveland, but he was praised for his versatility and ball skills entering the draft."

Bell, 22, has four catches for 33 yards so far this season with the Browns. Perhaps a change of scenery and a fresh start could open up an opportunity for Bell. As a recent Day 2 pick, Bell could have a lot of untapped potential that the Browns.

The Pats could offer Bell some opportunity given the team's lackluster receiving corps. Going into Week 8, Kendrick Bourne is the only wide receiver on the roster with over 200 yards receiving. Sixth-round rookie Demario Douglas is second on the team with 197 yards.

Bourne could be a hot commodity on the trade market with his value possibly at an all-time high. Trading for Bell gives the Pats a replacement and another person to look at as the team rebuilds into the 2024 season and beyond.
