Post-waiver wire fantasy football pickups for Week 14

Think there are no (Elijah) Moore good players on the waiver wire? No need to get (Jake) Moody, there are still plenty of good players available.

QB: Joe Flacco ( Cleveland Browns)

Head coach Kevin Stefanski still hasn’t named his starting quarterback for Week 14, but according to Camryn Justice of news5cleveland.com, Flacco took the majority of reps at Wednesday’s practice.

With Dorian Thompson-Robinson in the concussion protocol, Flacco came off the couch to throw for 254 yards and a pair of touchdowns against the Rams in Week 13. If he gets another start, he’ll face a Jaguars team that just gave up 354 yards to Jake Browning, Cincinnati's undrafted free-agent quarterback.

Only two teams give up more fantasy points to quarterbacks than Jacksonville, and with Chicago and Houston still on the Browns’ schedule, Flacco is a sneaky-good option if you’re desperate for a   quarterback.

Flacco is available in 95% of Yahoo! leagues.

RB: Kenneth Gainwell (Philadelphia Eagles)

Gainwell had only two carries for five yards against the 49ers, but added five receptions for 42 more. He led the backfield by running 32 routes and his 54 percent snap share was his highest since he outcarried D’Andre Swift 14-1 to open the season.

Swift left last week’s game after a big hit in the fourth quarter but hasn’t appeared on the team’s injury report. Eagles coaches tend to trust Gainwell in big moments and with first place in the NFC East on the line against Dallas, Gainwell should see plenty of work.

Gainwell is available in 68% of Yahoo! leagues.

WR: Jaxon Smith-Njigba (Seattle Seahawks)

Seattle’s D.K. Metcalf led all wide receivers with 37.4 fantasy points last week, but Smith-Njigba led the team with 11 targets and seven catches against the Cowboys' fifth-ranked passing defense.

Both were season-highs for the talented rookie but they won’t be for long based on the Seahawks’ upcoming schedule. This week the team will have to keep up with San Francisco’s high-powered offense. After that, it will face an Eagles team giving up the most fantasy points to wide receivers, followed by the Titans who allow the sixth-most.

Smith-Njigba is available in 38% of Yahoo! leagues.

TE: Isaiah Likely (Baltimore Ravens)

Goodbye Mark Andrews, hello Likely. Baltimore’s backup tight end had just four catches for a team-high 40 yards in a 20-10 win over the Chargers before the bye but is primed for better numbers in Week 14.

Andrews led the Ravens in touchdowns (six) and was their second-leading receiver before going on the IR with an ankle injury. If Likely gets anywhere near the looks Andrews got from quarterback Lamar Jackson, the second-year tight end could fill the stat sheet against a Rams team giving up the third-most fantasy points to tight ends.

Likely is available in 52% of Yahoo! leagues.

DST: Green Bay Packers

Green Bay’s defense held the Kansas City Chiefs in check for a 27-19 victory last week. Next, it gets a Giants team averaging a league-worst 258.7 yards per game. New York named Tommy DeVito its starting quarterback which can only mean good things for a Packers team with a real shot of making the playoffs.

The Packers defense is available in 43% of Yahoo! leagues.

K: Cairo Santos (Chicago Bears)

Santos has 100 fantasy points this year, more than Younghoe Koo, Jake Moody and Jason Sanders. His four field goals in Week 13 accounted for all of the Bears' points and he’s scored at least 12 fantasy points in each of his last three games. How are so many fantasy players passing on this veteran kicker?

Santos is available in 98% of Yahoo! leagues.
