Rams LT Andrew Whitworth remains undecided on retirement decision

Andrew Whitworth already had four Pro Bowl nods, two First-Team All-Pro honors and a Walter Payton Man of the Year award to his credit prior to capturing his first Super Bowl title last month. Now at 40 years old, the Los Angeles Rams left tackle has been contemplating retirement.

Whitworth said last week that he was "leaning towards" retiring, but on Wednesday, he had a slightly different tone. He also discussed one particularly prominent teammate who has also been involved in retirement rumors lately.

It would help the Rams if Whitworth decided on his future before March 16, when the new league year begins. His salary will be cleared from the team's books and allow them maximum flexibility if he retires before the start of the new year.

Whitworth has been with the Los Angeles since the 2017 season. He played the first 11 years of his career with the Bengals after they selected him in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft out of LSU.
