Randall Cobb and wife’s baby reveal featured in Hard Knocks episode three
Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

Jets receiver Randall Cobb and his family have a new place to live. And now, they’re welcoming a new baby!

This week’s episode of Hard Knocks on Max featured a sweet scene, as Randall and Aiyda told their two boys that they’re going to be big brothers. Fans tune into the show to see some behind-the-scenes details from training camp. They probably weren’t expecting a pregnancy reveal from Florham Park, NJ.

Randall Cobb tells his kids: “mommy has a surprise for you. You know how we do the Cobb mob before bed every night? How many hands are normally in?”

One son offers “three.” Forgive him, he’s too young for math. He quickly changed his answer to four. Cause that’s how many Cobbs stick in a hand. Ready, bedtime!

“It’s going to be five hands real soon.”

“Why” another son asks. And Daddy tells him there’s going to be another hand in the Cobb mob. Then Aiyda asks “what do you keep asking me for, in my belly?” And just as she’s about to tell them there’s a kid on the way, another son says “Mama, I want to have a baby in my tummy, too.” But brother reminds him he needs to be a girl for that.

Randall and Aiyda Cobb were married in 2017. They have two sons named Cade and Caspian. We’re thinking there’s another C name joining the Cobb mob. But it definitely provided a sweet slice of training camp life.

The Jets have rejuvenated the 33-year-old receiver. He admitted that he thought about retiring before this season. But when Aaron Rodgers switched from the Packers to the Jets, Cobb decided to go with him for a try at the Super Bowl. After all, the two had been teammates in Green Bay for a decade.

“I did think about (retirement). And in the end I knew I wasn’t ready,” Randall Cobb told reporters. “I wasn’t ready to hang it up, I knew I wasn’t done playing. (And) I have so much love for this game and I know I can’t play until I’m 60. But as long as I feel like I can still do it, I’m gonna come out and do it.”

Randall Cobb wasn’t the only Packer who switched to the Jets. Receiver Allen Lazard also made the move with Rodgers. Plus, the Jets hired Nathanial Hackett, who had been the Packers offensive coordinator and signed Tim Boyle, a one-time backup to Rodgers in Green Bay.

So congratulations to Randall Cobb and his expanding Cobb mob.
