Report: Saints Expected To Re-Sign Veteran Safety To Practice Squad
USA TODAY Sports

According to Jordan Schultz , the New Orleans Saints are "signing veteran safety Daniel Sorensen to their practice squad."  He played eight seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs and was on the Super Bowl LIV winning team.  Sorensen will fill a noticeable void after the NFL suspended starting safety Marcus Maye for three games because of violating the NFL policy on substances of abuse.

Last season, New Orleans signed Sorensen to a free-agent contract on March 25, 2022.  He had 17 game appearances, 2 starts, 25 tackles, 2 starts, 3 passes defended, and 2 interceptions with the Saints.  The BYU product has 422 total tackles, 4.5 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, 34 pass deflections, 13 interceptions, and 5 defensive touchdowns in his NFL career.
